Last weeks speedy

Sorry for the two day delay in this post I have been a bit caught up in my other work, mostly game production as I’m rather behind *sigh* old habits die hard. Either way here it is

This one ended up in two halves each about 30 mins as I got interrupted in my first attempt. I was inspired this week by facial expressions and chose to  do Dexter Morgan from “Dexter”. I chose this subject as his facial expressions during the series are interesting and often conflicting with his own thoughts. The character has to hide his true self from all those around him however on occasion a subtle expression such as the one I have tried to capture shows a glimpse of the darkness inside.
I have always struggled painting expressions so this paint was a definite challenge and although I ran out of time an had to use a cheesy background I am rather pleased with the outcome. I feel that improvement is becoming visible in my work.

So enough talk where's your work?

Since coming back from the christmas break I've set myself some resolutions. Including a work one "wheyy". I have decided to get into the habit of doing more non-course realated work and to get the process started I've set myself a target of one speedpaint a week. This number will of course increase as I get into the habit.
So here are the ones i've done so far..

Week 1
 Week 2
 Week 3
And there will be one later this week.

Right then. catch up time.

I'm rather new to blogger but not to blogging. I normally use tumblr because I find its layout and dashboard much more useable- if thats a word. However I've started this blog on blogger -_- in order to broaden my horizon a bit as I realise not all industry folks know of tumblr.

So to introduce myself properly I'm Meg a student at De Montfort University currently studying Game Art. This blog is a record of my journey through university, well the course to be precise.
I'm currently a second year and finally begining to find my way a bit. I'll regualrly be updating this with what I'm doing on the course, and uploading my work for people to see and comment on.

Please feel free to ask me any questions, comment or even follow if you want :)
